Love your blog! I’m a Prep teacher in Queensland, fairly new to teaching (this will be my 3rd year, all in Prep). I have really enjoyed all your posts on developing young writers – you’ve put into words many of the things I experienced in my journey as well. And the first week of school – shared reading/writing ‘I am at school’. So simple, but so powerful! One of those ‘why didn’t I think of that!’ moments. I will be using this in my first week back this year, thank-you! Do you have any other suggestions for first days/weeks teaching activities centred around literacy/numeracy?
